Differences between Silkscreen and Digital Printing

Printing is a big business these days worldwide. There are two methods of printing using custom ink one is silkscreen printing and other is digital printing. Both the printing techniques are best according to the art work done. Since silk screening technique is considered to be the oldest method but it is most efficient and convenient. Silkscreen printing

In silkscreen printing a stencil is created and then that stencil is used to apply layers of ink to the printing surface. In this technique separate screens need to be made for each different color. The combination of these screens prints the design on the printing surface. But in this only one screen is applied at a time.

Silk screen printing is widely used because it provides a high level of vibrancy when printing on dark surface. This provides brighter design in comparison to digital printing because the ink used in silkscreen printing is thicker than the digital one.
Digital printing

This is the newer process in which the art work designed by you on the computer is directly printed on the surface of the product. This is not a heat transfer process because the ink is directly adhered to the surface of product. In this one will get a little dull color of the design because the ink used in this thinner than the silk screen printing ink. This is a slow process than the silk screen printing. But this gives a high detail print on the surface.

Still today silk screen printing is considered to be the best.
